All proceeds from this event will go towards the Erin Modrzynski scholarship fund which supports young aspiring artists. Explore the arts at www.Clarkstonarts.org. \nFeaturing first time challenger Stardusters Big Band vs Eight-time Battle of the Bands winner\, Paul King & the Rhythm Society Orchestra. Stardusters from Clarkston specializes in the elegance of the Big Band Era Swing. Paul King & the Rhythm Society Orchestra from Detroit specializes in swing from the mid-1930s through the late 1940s. Its sound is influenced by Count Basie and Harry James and has covered top swing venues throughout the Midwest. The band has been nominated for multiple Detroit Music Awards including Best Big Band/Swing Artists. \nDancers of all skill levels are welcome to the 23rd year of swing dancing. Many come just to enjoy the sights and sounds. Dress is snappy casual to semi-formal or vintage attire. General admission begins at 6:30 p.m. with a dance lesson from 7 to 8:pm. The band will hit the stage at 8:15 p.m. and perform until midnight. There is a cash bar available throughout the evening with a 50/50 raffle pot opportunity. This in-person event promises to be an unforgettable night filled with electrifying performances and infectious swing rhythms. \nTickets are $30 per person in advance or at the door. Add $5 for the optional lesson. Tables of eight may be reserved in advance at no additional charge.
