Included in each evening’s event will be making and enjoying s’mores as well as games and other activities for the whole family. \nPlenty of parking is available and admission is free.

Minimum 3. \nLearn the foundational skills of carving with hand tools and the joy of whittling beautiful useful wooden objects from tent pegs to spatulas and much more! Part one of this two-part class will teach participants how to safely use a razor sharp axe to split\, chop\, and shave wood into a myriad of useful items. We will spend this 2 hour class working toward producing a simple wooden tent peg using just the axe. You’ll leave with new understandings of how to use the simple\, yet fundamental tool of a sharp axe to in safe and confident ways. You may even surprise yourself with the things that you realize you can make with just one tool! \nTake this class as a standalone or coupled with the knife skills class to get a well-rounded introduction to using these fundamental hand tools. \nMaterials fee: $5 \nA select number of high-quality carving axes will be available for purchase.

DESCRIPTION:You will be creating something new and amazing everyday!\nDo you love everything art or maybe you would like to explore some fun techniques you don’t get to do in school? In this class we will be trying a new kind of art each day\, including gourd art\, professional tie-dye\, ceramics and more! There will be a gallery show on Friday to show off your masterpieces to family and friends. Please bring a snack and a large shirt to use as a smock; creativity is often messy. (If your child is attending both sessions\, he/she is welcome to stay for\nplay and to eat lunch with the teacher.) \nClasses will be taught by Katherine Suender\, an award winning\, elementary visual arts teacher. \nBaycourt Lakeview Room \nClasses 9-12 noon for artists going into grades 2-4 \nClasses 1-4 p.m. for artists going into grades 4-6 or students from the a.m. class who want to expand their skills. \n1st session M-F July 11-15 \n2nd session M-F August 15-19 \nFee for each week\, a.m. or p.m. $150 \nMaximum class size for each session = 20 \nMinimum class size 8. \n$40 Materials fee to be paid to the instructor on the first day of class. \nNothing ends a program faster than everyone waiting until the last minute to register.\nThere are certain deadlines that are set in order to decide whether a program will be cancelled.
